Sample Wedding Ceremony

The order of events taking place in a wedding ceremony varies and items are chosen based on each couple's desire.
We have included a sample of the order for a religious ceremony:

Scripture Readings Suitable for Weddings

There are beautiful verses in the Bible that can assist you with writing your own vows and that can be read during your ceremony.
Here are five suggestions:

• 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 
  5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 
  6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 
  7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 
  8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 
  9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 
  10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 
  11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 
  12For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. (1 Corinthians 13:4-12)
• 9 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor:
  10 If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. 
  11 Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? 
  12 Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken. (Ecclesiastes 4:9-12)
  
• 18 The LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” 
  19 Now the LORD God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. 
  20 So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals. But for Adam no suitable helper was found. 
  21 So the LORD God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh. 
  22 Then the LORD God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. 
  23The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” 
  24 That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. (Genesis 2:18-24)
  
• 4 “Haven’t you read,” he replied, “that at the beginning the Creator ‘made them male and female,’ 
  5 and said, ‘For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh’? 
  6 So they are no longer two, but one flesh. Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” (Matthew 19:4-6)
